For this months Bridal Bible, we spoke to the gorgeous Samantha Cummins. Samantha got married in August 2016 in the Rochestown Park Hotel. We handmade her two custom headpieces with matching Vines for her hair, Luxe earrings, Katie bracelet and a beautifully detailed belt for her dress. We’ve attached plenty of photos of the big day to show how truly stunning Samantha was!! x
Where did you buy your dress and how long before the wedding?
I got my dress in the Moderne in Cork. It was the fourth dress that I tried on and I instantly fell in love. I did have another appointment at another shop so we went along but I couldn’t wait to get out of the shop to go and put my dress from the Moderne back on.
Who did your hair?
The hairdresser for myself and the bridesmaids was my cousin Aaron Healy, from Wayne Lloyd Hair.
Who did your makeup?
The makeup artist I used was Sarah Cummins. Sarah and Aaron both came to the house on the morning of the wedding.
Where did you buy your accessories?
My jewellery, hair pieces and my bridal belt were from Azure Jewellery. When I decided to jazz up my dress, they were so helpful with picking the perfect belt to match my dress and it was fabulous that I could take the pieces out on trial to try on with my dress before deciding which one to go with.
Where did you get married?
We got married in Rochestown Park Hotel and they were just amazing, fantastic to deal with and gave us the best day of our lives!
How many bridesmaids did you have and where did you buy their dresses and accessories?
What did you find the most challenging aspect of organising your wedding?
The most challenging aspect for me would definitely have been keeping all five bridesmaids happy.
Brides always mention how difficult it is to find shoes; where did you get yours?
Were there any individual touches that you added and that you particularly loved about your day?
Although it was a very emotional day as my father had passed away some years ago, I was the most relaxed on my wedding morning as I had my eldest son walk me up the aisle and ahead of us was our youngest son carrying a beautiful sign for my future hubby. I also got a great night sleep the night before as I stayed in my own house with my two sons and left in the wedding car with my boys which made my morning even more relaxed and enjoyable.
What piece of advice would you give to an upcoming bride?
My advice for brides-to-be would be to enjoy all the organising during the lead up to the Wedding and enjoy every single minute of your special day as it passes by too fast.
